Masthead was born of internet fatigue. Numbed by the incessant onslaught of new content the current media model requires, DTE Studio conceived Masthead to present something fresh yet evergreen - A stand-alone digital portfolio featuring large format images alongside unique musings on eternally relevant issues from a curated collection of influential individuals of today, yesterday (always the best) and tomorrow (we shot Billie Eilish in 2017). Ultimately, we were hoping to hold your attention for a bit longer than it takes a thumb to scroll. The platform was also developed as a (successful) tool for our agency to connect with potential clients and partners.
Following the release of three annual issues, we sought to expand our platform with the introduction of new editorial series - Op-Ed, Q&A, and Things We Love, which gave us the opportunity to feature more work from creators we admire, as well as produce our own.
I was the lead on Masthead; my role was all-inclusive. Core responsibilities included issue concept ideation, strategy, and development, editorial copywriting and article writing, marketing and partnership strategy and management, social media management and content creation, SEO content creation, casting and talent outreach/management, event planning and production, sponsorship acquisition and management. I am very proud of the work and organic reach we accomplished.
